Occupational Therapy Program
Occupational therapy (OT) focuses on assisting children and adults with a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. Keany Associates Brite Kids OT program is structured around the current best practices in OT, with the enhancement of treatment from relationship and play-based theories, including sensory integration and behavioral techniques.
The Brite Kids OT program at Keany Associates is designed to provide developmentally appropriate services in everyday functional or play-based activities, with a 1:1 staff to child ratio. Through the use of purposeful activities impairments in sensory processing, motor control and planning, postural control, arousal and attention, and psychosocial abilities are addressed to enhance the child's performance during everyday activities.
OT services can be provided in-home or in the Brite Kids OT clinic. The treatment environment is determined following the child’s evaluation and assessment. Our Occupational Therapy Clinic is outfitted with quality equipment designed to integrate learning and play in order to provide a fun yet challenging environment for growth. With a 1:1 ratio our therapists engage children in purposeful activities to address difficulties with sensory processing and impairments across all areas of development.
Sometimes a child is not developmentally ready to receive services in the Brite Kids OT clinic. If this determination is made, in-home sessions can be provided to the family.
